Thank you. It is like political neutrality - it only serves people who already have power and privilege

I agree Amy. Typically journalists are biased for one reason and another, but very few stand up to their bosses, (unless they are small independent media companys). Their bosses are so often closely associated with politicians. During the American invasion of Iraq, media was totally under the control of the Army, in fact were required to become members of the American armed forces. And of course most media is owned by the the American Oligarch, Murdoch, or by various Australian billionaires (also oligarchs in their own way). These oligarchs are of course very influential in government, they can promise favourable news coverage.

I do so agree w you about objectivity Amy - I remember telling a moderately snr justice that it was just a particular collective of subjective opinions - when I was an uppity social science student, years ago. I cld have added the important words context & power - have been learning ever since...
